In the 1820's, a young immigrant named John Rich came to America and followed in his family's tradition of working in the woolen industry. His mill became the site of today's small Pennsylvania town of Woolrich. Woolrich was outfitting troops in the Civil War and has continued this history in every war since. With this heritage as a backdrop and Woolrich's current production capabilities, the move into modern tactical wear was a natural brand extension.
